Just an overall downer of a film. I'll never live in Atlantic City. D.Schwim did a credible job as a drunk. I've seen drunks and his depiction was farirly accurate.
I definitely enjoyed Judah Friedlander as an aspiring stand up comic. -

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised by this quiet little film. 'Duane Hopwood' really runs the spectrum of emotions, often heartbreakingly painful to watch. David Schwimmer does an excellent job. I would recommend to all.

MCT:July 26, 2007what a great find this film is, david schwimmer plays an alcoholic divorced casino worker that thru many bad choices and actions begins to realize that he needs to get his life back before all is lost. terrific and unexpected performance by david scwimmer(perhaps because of friends i felt this way).

MCT:July 1, 2007"Duane Hopwood" is an existentially true film about the effects of alcoholism and poor choices in life. David Schwimmer's performance is excellent and makes a lot of the movie worth watching. The editing is nicely done, too.

Duane Hopwood has everything he ever wanted a loving wife and 2 amazing daughters,that is until he decides he would much rather be drunk,his wife divorces him and stops his visitation rites pretty depressing stuff but a good performance from David Schwimmer,he finally realises when it's too late and loses everything he ever loved.

As always. David Schwimmer delivers his natural talent, acting, with exquisit cuality. I belive he may become the next Tom Hanks or Robin Williams. (if not better. But please Schwim, don't leave comedy aside.

Very good movie. Enjoyed the comic elements as well as the drama and realistic tragedy.
