this movie has a bit of everything, hahaha...the breakup bit is hilarious ( if you know what i mean) the pommie dude is a crackup. check it out for a good laugh
I'm really liking the way a lot of comedies are heading towards nowadays. Gone are the days of laughing along with the asshole (Clerks, Borat, etc), sarcastic cynics, and bumbling oafs. A lot of comedies (I guess mainly Apatow's; Superbad, Pineapple Express, etc) are about nice people. I really enjoyed the sensitivity played for laughs in Pineapple Express and it works well in this one too. Also, a lot of the gags are funny and the actors work together very well. Good job, I might eventually give The 40 Year Old Virgin a second chance (the theatrical version, a 2 and a half hour comedy!? Geesh)
This movie was not nearly as funny as I thought it would be and I was really disapointed with it. It did have some funny moments but not many and I got really bored watching it. I think the best part was the end.
This was a really cute break-up story. I felt really bad for Peter, but really happy at the same time. Kudos Jason Segel on the song-writing.
There is a great review of Forgetting Sarah Marshall by two old school Hollywood veterans in their 80's --they have different viewpoints but are smart funny and give a fresh perspective-check it out go to YouTube and type in Reel Geezers

"Clearly the people on Flixster are getting stupider and stupider if this film only has a 2 and a half rating."
I concur with that.
Oh, and madmac- Come on dude! Two and a half is way too low for an All-Flixster score. Take a look at Norbit; it has three and a half star, and I'm pretty sure no one with a brain in their head would prefer that piece of garbage to THIS! If they do, well I guess that just proves that Johnd's above statement isn't far from the truth!
I don't understand why people ask why the rating is so low. If people are rating it low, they didn't like it, myself included. I didn't think it was very funny, or very good. That's just my opinion.
I was wondering the same thing, why is the rating for Sarah Marshall so low? It should definitely be higher.
Clearly the people on Flixster are getting stupider and stupider if this film only has a 2 and a half rating.
