House on Haunted Hill was a decent film, it had lots of excitement and a decent plot, but some parts didn't make sense and it wasn't the scariest.
I enjoyed both this version and the original. This one wasn't necessarily as scary in its tone but I thought the backstory of the building being an old insane asylum was very interesting.
Definitely the most underrated horror flick of all time,"House on haunted hill" is directed with a nimble, savvy touch and actually shows us really scary stuff...
kind of a slasher. had you thinking who was the murderer and who was running....but heck 2.5 mill aint to bad for 1 night... had barbosa in it
House On Haunted Hill was a very scary horror flick. It had lots of strong bloody violence and gore. It had alot of talented actors like; Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen, Taye Diggs, Ali Larter and Bridgette Wilson. Chris Kattan and Peter Gallagher were horrible.
The story takes place where millionare Steven Price, (Geoffrey Rush) offers a group of four, a million dollars to spend a night in a house that use to be a Phsyciatric Hospital Facility with a horrifying past. A past where Dr. Vanacant is operating on mental patients. While; the doctors and nurses are operating on a certain mental patient, the other mental patients escape out of their rooms and take over. Torturing the doctors and nurses with operating needles and knifes. It was one of the worst horror moments in history. When the hospital burned down in 1931, Watson Pritchett, (Chris Kattan) who bought the house right before it was rebuilt. Evelyn Price, (Famke Janssen) told her husband Steven Price to invite this particular group of friends to her birthday party; which was set up at the house. When Evelyn's friends arrived at the house, they found out that it wasn't a party to have fun. It was a party that they had to survive the entire night getting payed one million dollars in the haunted house.
It has twist and turns in the suspense. Most scenes had intense scary moments with bone chilling thrill's. It was very entertaining with nonstop horror. So, if you're looking foward seeing a very scary horror thriller, this is definetly the one. It want keep you on the edge of you're seat, but it will make you jump out of you're seat. Its definetly worth a rent.
