Uno scandalo di film. Ridicolizza il personaggio principale, rovinando tutto quel che aveva di buono. Indiana Jones diventa la caricatura di sè stesso. Trama assolutamente fuori luogo. Inguardabile.

Indiana Jones was born on a beach; quite literally, he was the result of a need to escape for his producer George Lucas and director Steven Spielberg. A new kind of hero who was the old kind of hero, and just as their instincts had proven right on films as different as Star Wars and Jaws, so Indiana Jones came to be a huge hit; a wry, warm antidote to the dark anti-heroes of the ?70s.

After the relatively quick one-two-three of the original trilogy, there then came the massive hiatus that brings us, after 19 long years, to the latest. The delay caused trepidation among the fans but, though there'll be those who disagree, the finished, and most likely final, instalment in the Indy saga is a minor triumph plucked from the jaws of disappointment. Indy is older, the old chemistry takes some time to reconfigure fully, and the thrill of where Indy might take us in a globe made smaller by the worldwide web and cheap airline travel has diminished. But Spielberg hasn't diluted the integrity of his keynote character. Indy IV preserves Jones' core credentials, celebrating his intelligence, his urbanity and his stubborn, scholarly kick-arse cool.

The story, too, cleaves close to the usual format: 1) the pulse-racing opening scenario, 2) the back-to-Marshall-College pause for breath, 3) the accidental treasure trail ? because Indy is never so vulgar as to go looking for riches on purpose ? and 4) the jackpot final highway, an exciting 45-minute rollercoaster that may test your credulity but never your attention span. The difference, though, is that ? as promised ? Spielberg has changed his palette, taking Indy from 1938 to 1957 in real time and switching the gaudy, Republic serial-inspired glow of the original movies for a beautiful, pastel-hued ?50s look.

Cast-wise, it's impeccable, but here's where the debits creep in. Though it seems on page to be an ensemble piece, Indy 4 is a crowded place where Jones comes first and everyone else follows. The upside of this is that Cate Blanchett and the excellent LaBeouf have a fantastic opportunity to play villain and sidekick respectively. The downside is that great character actors such as Ray Winstone and John Hurt don't have anything to play except hamstrung expositional roles. And similarly, with such great actors, it's a shame that the added effects don't always match what's actually there: as Peter Jackson proved with the wayward dinosaur chase in King Kong, CG spectacle can detract if there's no valid danger, and though there are squirmy scenes, Indy 4 struggles to find its peril level.

But the question is whether this is a real Indy movie, and the answer is a resounding yes. At 65, Harrison Ford isn't the whippersnapper he was, and maybe the opening athletic chase scene is a little too much to expect from him, but when he's punching big, bad Russkies on the nose, Ford hits the spot in more ways than one. He may be a little off on some of his comic timing, and the rekindled-romance subplot won't work for younger viewers ? and, hey, neither will the ?I like Ike? gag ? but this is Indy as back in our world as he'll ever be. It's hard to conceive of another contemporary film that would please so many people today, but that's what Indiana Jones movies always did and what this one does right now. It won't change your life but, if you're in the right frame of mind, it will change your mood: you might wince, you might groan, you might beg to differ on the big, silly climax, but you'll never stop smiling. Think of Indy as an escape, which is all he was ever meant to be, and all he was ever really meant to help us do.

The wait is finally over and it was worth to wait for the return of the man in the hat.You can say whatever you want(personally,i don´t give a fuck). The Kingdom of the Crystal was amazing and funny.Just as good as Raiders,Temple of Doom and the Last Crusade, this movie goes faster and faster and also has amazing action scenes and ass kicking stunts and a lot of humour.Harrison was amazing and he looks better than never since the last Indy. But he has that daredevil spirit of Dr.Jones.Shia was a great additcion to the saga(he was cool like a greaser)And Cate Blanchett, goddamn, she is such a badass as Irina Spalko and puts the other Indy baddies to a shame. There´s nothing wrong with this one and Spielberg and Lucas can bring another adventure of Indiana Jones(with Harrison,of course)Dr.Jones, welcome back.Yay!!!

I didn't like tis one as much as the others in the series, but still worth watching. It has a strange story, and I wasn't to crazy about all the alien stuff. The returning characters were an ok addition, but I did like Shia LeBeouf's role in it.

I still haven't figured out why I didn't like this movie as much as I though I would. Maybe too many years passed between the previous ones and this one, therefore, I didn't get the little references that came up throughout the film.

Being a fan of Indiana Jones, I was very excited to be watching the newest addition in the illustrious legacy of the Indiana Jones series, and as I sat down, I prepared myself to be amazed. The movie started and the familiar Indiana Jones theme song began blaring though the room (with me quietly humming the tune), the memories of the previous adventures flooded through my mind. This is it!! After almost 20 years, Indy is back for what would most likely be his last great adventure? Harrison Ford has reprised his role as the main man Indy, complete with signature whip and hat, he is joined by some recognizable characters from previous installments and some new ones in the form of Hollywood wizz kid Shia Lebeouf. In this episode Indy is in search of the infamous crystal skulls in the city of Eldorado while fighting off evil Soviets... classic Indy stuff. As I sat there watching the movie, I waited for the classic Indy moments that made the previous series part of pop culture and imprinted it forever in the annals of movie history, but it never came, the movie was, by gosh, ordinary? everyone was doing what they had to (and Ive got to give it to Ford for still being able to run around like that as his age) but yet the movie lacked that old flame. Everyone (but I have to note that Blanchett did an excellent job as the villain) felt like they were going through the process, like ticking off a shopping list; witty comments, check. Exhilarating car chases, check. Ex-Lovers reunion, check. Extreme gunfights, check. And of course the elusive ancient artifact, check. So in summary the movie was good and they did some excellent work on the special effects and graphics but they still failed on the story/plot (Freaking Aliens???? WTF??? This aint X-Files) and the script which didn?t capture the feel of the long line of previous (sucessfulI) Indiana Jones Movies. It a good watch and an entertaining movie, but I found it to be lacking in living up to the Indiana Jones name.

Indiana Jones is 64 years old, and his latest adventure is accordingly less sharp, gritty, and energetic than those of his relative youth. The film would have done better to replace most of the digital effects with good old-fashioned wit and ingenuity, but all the trademark elements are in place, and they earn the film a spot alongside the other classic installments.

I was very pleasently suprised by The Crystal Skull it follows on from the first three perfectly and manages to keep the same tone which many sequals lack when made years later. The same buddy movie styling is sed here and the addition of Shia LeBeouf makes the as enjoyable in the familyy stakes as The Last Crusade. The ending felt weird but not too wierd to be out of place.

Fans of Indiana Jones need only apply. This movie was a great summer ride and I'm glad I saw it in theaters. However I don't think I'll be buying it on Blu-Ray when it releases because while it was entertaining, it was one of those "I've seen it once, that's enough" kind of films for me. The plot is what seems to get so many people angry at the film but I thought it was decent, not great but decent. And yes several of the action scenes were over the top but that didn't damper on the fun I had seeing Indy in action again.

Not being a huge Indiana Jones fan, I wasn't expecting much from this movie. Unfortunately this filc tried far too hard to be like its predecessors (with the cliché soviet baddies and more) but just didn't live up to the level of entertainment the old films provided.

Action packed but the story is not as good as the third installment, the Last Crusade. But think this movie is telling us that Harrison Ford is saying goodbye as Indiana Jones and his son, Henry Jones the third portrayed here by Lebeuff will take over. Who will be the next Indiana Jones?

The movie is just like a pile of tard that has been lying around as old as Ford himself. What a lame and pathetic excuse for a movie. The garbage of filth coming from Spielberg and Lucas is such a shame. If you want to waste your money then go and see it. Cate Blanchett is a fine actress, probably one of the best, but in this she disgraced herself. Why even bother taking a role like this? Ford is too old to play Indy. At least, when Sly made Rocky Balboa and Rambo, he looked good and both movies were millions of miles better than this excuse. Just like Emmerich disappointed with 10,000 BC, Spielberg and Lucas go a mile further. I mean, come on, was Spielberg trying to make ET 2????? loooooooooool

Gee, I guess if a movie is part of a series then I should rate it higher because of this? ROFLMAO!
As far as Star Wars ep. 1-3.
I was referring to the gratuitous overuse of CGI in place of writing, dialog, story and character development that Lucas is now famous(or infamous)for.

Interesting use of the term "tight-wad", made absolutely no sense in that sentence.
So you're saying that some movie critics are stingy people when it comes to their reviews?
Of course this would mean that they create reviews and don't let anybody else read or view them.

    *scratches head*

Either that or you don't know the proper use this term (along with not knowing what it truly means) or for some strange reason you believe that these so called movie critics are in fact misers.

    Classic!

    Another person proving my point.
    Keep 'em comin'!
