Plot: The inspiring story of the team that transcended its sport and united a nation with a new feeling of hope. Based on the true story of one of the greatest moments in sports history, the tale captures a...( read more read more... ) time and place where differences could be settled by games and a cold war could be put on ice. In 1980, the United States Ice Hockey team's coach, Herb Brooks, took a ragtag squad of college kids up against the legendary juggernaut from the Soviet Union at the Olympic Games. Despite the long odds, Team USA carried the pride of a nation yearning from a distraction from world events. With the world watching the team rose to the occasion, prompting broadcaster Al Michaels' now famous question, to the millions viewing at home: "Do you believe in a miracle? Yes!"

If you love hockey like I do, then you'll love this one. It's good for the kids as well as adults. Filled with some humor and a lot of heart.

The greatest moment in U.S. sports history recreated beautifully. Incredible performance from Kurt Russell as Team U.S.A. coach Herb Brooks. From the training sequences to the recreation of the historic game against the U.S.S.R., I feel it is the most realisticaly filmed sports movie ever made, and it shows just how much can be accomplished if you truly believe in yourself.

One of the best sports films, EVER and it happens to be about the best sport, ever. :) Miracle is about as close as it gets to being a documentary but with the pleasure of being a masterpiece of a movie. Everything from the commentary during the Olympics from Al Michels and the actual plays themselves, are all real and exactly duplicated in realtime. It's absurd to imagine the coreography involved. Even the great coach, Herb Brooks, was involved with Kurt Russell in an effort to bring more realism to the charactre. The special features are also worth a watch. All of what I just covered was shown during the hours of features available. A must see

One of few sports movies that has any re-watchability. A beautifully done and a very inspiring film with a great cast. Russel leads the way and does a great job at it. The various players also give good performances with Cahill, Demsey, and Mantenuto giving good, strong, performances. I don't know how well the story follows the actual evens but it plays out well and moves at a good entertaining speed. Worth watching the first time and multiple times thereafter. One of my favorite sports movies.

Way better than the mighty ducks, for sure. Best hockey movie ever, amazinggg. Seen it 10 times, and it never gets old. It's a great movie to see with the team, and then again at home with friends and family. You don't even have to play hockey to love it. The only problem is that some of the players were too good looking.
