"It began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves; immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven, to the Dwarf Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desire power. For within these rings was bound the strength and the will to govern over each race. But they were all of them deceived, for a new ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret, a master ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One ring to rule them all."
Its power corrupts all who desire it. Only one has the will to resist it. A Fellowship of nine must destroy it. Join one unlucky hero and a fellowship of nine as they embark on a magnificent journey to destroy evil's grasp on the world. Filmed in the beautiful New Zealand forests with an amazing cast, this story unlike no other comes to life.
A fantastic trilogy personally for me my favorite is the last one.the battle scenes are brilliant i love the when the two armys clash deffinatly one for any movie buffs collection
It was actually pretty good! I didn't think I'd like it but it's so much like HP that it's killing me! That's probably why I liked it so much.
i couldnt help but praise peter jackson's adaptation of the book i love... without losing much of the excitement and mythical qualities of the book, he turns a piece of literary great to an unforgettable film

In his effort to thwart Sauron, Frodo recruits the fellowship of a wizard, an elf, a dwarf and others on a mission to destroy the ring by casting it into the volcanic fires in the Crack of Doom. I enjoyed all of these films a great deal. Yes, there were a few Troyesque moments where you felt like the story was being drawn out for no other reason than to show how beautiful everything is, but I feel that those scenes were a, thankfully, pale shadow of the obtuse and overly descriptive language of the novels. A, blessedly, weak homage to Tolkein's tendency to describe every blade of grass.
oh please I have no words to express how mother fakin great and spactaculear all of the LOTR movies are!!
well what can you say about this film .... there aint words to describe how brilliant it is ... my ultimate fave x
Instant classic
The movie is the classic story of three hobbits, a dwarf, an elf, two men and a wizard on a quest to save the world from evil. The special effects alone make it worth watching. The story moves along at a quick pace unlike the book that has a tendency to drag along with side stories left out of the movie and a few long poems. When the party finally goes underground the pace picks up a little too much. In the book the orcs are hidden in the darkness just out of reach, a constant danger that never quite catches up with them. In the movie the walls are crawling with orcs. Fortunately the elf has a magic quiver that never runs out of arrows. If this were a game of D&D and I were the dungeon master, I'd be asking to see the character sheet for this elf.
tuvo un buen comiencio para esta triologia. Al principio no me gustaba pero eventualmente me encanta
KUDOS TO PETER JACKSON!!
I loved all the lord of the rings trilogy.........
n i'd have to admit the way the movie went on...exactly like it was written frm the book (i've read it) so imagine seeing an epic event dat u've already read and imagined wat i'll be like well it was cool better den xpected!!
Thnk god in the last part (return of the king) Dark lord Sauron finally got wat he deserved!!
It was really hard for frodo to let go of the ring in the end but finally he let it 'free-fall' to the volcanic lava!
many of few who have'nt seen the last part may thinki'm 'weird' this is exactly wat happened!
Can't think of any other Fiction made Alive Better than this.
Excellent Movie in Technical aspects also.
this stayed so close to the books. I thought it was the best movie because it did stay paralle to the books
Love this movie specially when the ghost agreed to be the kings side...and then they ambushed they enemies with the ghost.
Fellowship of The Ring is a classic. It's really interesting to see "innocent" characters like Frodo and Sam evolved to be the brave ones
My least favorite Rings film but its still class. The work that went into the film really paid off.Great cast
Sets the scene for the complex take to follow.
Stuck close enough to the book and the spirit of the book to entertain and to build the foundation for a most complex and difficult tale in the next two movies that complete the story.
So far, the only American masterpiece this decade. Great characters and great acting from all but one (Bloom).
"Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."
This exceeded my expectations I didn't think it would live up to the book but it really did it justice. I think you have to appreciate this movie even if it's not your taste, anyone who has rated this Not Interested should really give it a chance, yup yup yup
♥ love Merry and Pippin ♥
The one that kicked it all off. A magical, beautiful beginning to a great film and mythical odyssey.
I'm not tempted even toward the word "perfect" frequently. Um... really... really... not... bad... SQUEEE... They didn't screw up the Lord of the Rings.
This was the best of them. Very long movie looks fantastic and has some good performances. But unfortunately I just couldn't get into this series.
Exeptional. Rarely have a movie looked this beautiful before and the cast is picture perfect (with the one exception of Liv Taylor who looks like a dressed up human rather than a real mystical being.) Viggo Mortensen was a true last minute luck streak and pretty much all of them seem born to play those characters. A triumph in modern filmmaking.
Ah, where do I begin with the Fellowship...let me just start by saying that it is a classic and my favourite of the three films.

Amazing! Peter Jackson did a tremendous job at adapting the greatest book series of all time into the greatest film series of all time. Blows Harry Potter out of the water in so many ways. I hope he will direct the Hobbit, couldn't imagine anyone else.

NO MOVIE WILL BE LIKE THE LOTR
LOTR IS THE TOP AND IT'LL REMAIN THe TOP
i love the lord of the rings and never will anything ever top it, like the golden compass is trying too....NEVER
i have said it to my family and all my freinds orlando bloom is the hottest guy but i only feel that way when he has long hair like he does as legolas so i think it is time 4 orlando to grow his hair out
This movie had great graphics, special effects, and the storyline was well planned out.
The scenes created in this movie were dynamic. From the simple village to the elaborate Elfin village. It is a movie that needs to be seen on the big screen to be able to see all the details, although i think you'd have to see the movie several times to catch most of the details.
The special effects are not over done. If fact some of them are almost realistic. I love how they make the fantasy creatures move and interact with the real actors.
The Lord of the Rings books are classic and timeless. They were popular and widely read in the late 60's and continue to be widely read today. The movie still has the essence of the book, even though several items had to be omitted. What a great way to escape into another place and time, even another world!
Those of us who have read the Lord Of The Rings can see what was edited to provide room for for the meat of the story. I too love Tom Bombadil dearly. However, he would have been trite by comparison to the meat of the story and that would not have served his character well.
The reason that Tom and his Goldberry were in the book was the same reason for starting the book in the shire. Simply put, you have to know what it is you are fighting to save or what is the point in the battle?
With all that said, I am so pleased to have been able to see a movie I had always dreamed would be made. Perhaps it will inspire other directors and producers to move ahead with other projects, such as The Dragonriders Of Pern.
Ten stars would not be enough to rate LOTR.
Fantastic! These are my favourite movies - there is no competition. I would give anything to watch all three in the cinemas again.
