Plot: Sauron's forces have laid siege to Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor, in their efforts to eliminate the race of men. The once-great kingdom, watched over by a fading steward, has never been in more ...( read more read more... )desperate need of its king. But can Aragorn answer the call of his heritage and become what he was born to be? In no small measure, the fate of Middle-earth rests on his broad shoulders. With the final battle joined and the legions of darkness gathering, Gandalf urgently tries to rally Gondor's broken army to action. He is aided by Rohan's King Theoden, who unites his warriors for history's biggest test. Yet even with their courage and passionate loyalty, the forces of men--with Eowyn and Merry hidden among them--are no match for the enemies swarming against Gondor. Still, in the face of great losses, they charge forward into the battle of their lifetimes, tied together by their singular goal to keep Sauron distracted and give the Ring Bearer a chance to complete his quest. Their hopes rest with Frodo, a tiny but determined hobbit making a perilous trip across treacherous enemy lands to cast the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom. The closer Frodo gets to his final destination, the heavier his burden becomes and the more he must rely on Samwise Gamgee. Gollum--and the Ring itself--will test Frodo's allegiances and, ultimately, his humanity.

The biggest and best of the series, this film is a perfect, breathtaking climax to what is the greatest film trilogy since Star Wars.

My favorite LotR movie!! Love, love, LOVE the "drinking game!!!" Also, I find it completely hilarious that at the coronation, when Legolas and the other elves come forward, the all sway in unison as they walk!!! The worst part of the movie, as with the others in the trilogy, is Frodo. Yes, I know he's been effected by the Ring. But he's annoying. But I love the other hobbits, Gimli, Gandalf, Aragorn, and especially Legolas!

This one is so good, it shouldn't even be in the reviewing category. It should have a title above it that reads...BEST MOVIE OF THE BEST SERIES EVER MADE....I think I made my point. Can I really only give it 5 stars!

What can eye say this is one of the greatest pictures ever made. This film is chock full of spectacle and wonder. The score is just epic. It won all eleven of its Academy Award nominations a World Record! That alone should be enough to prove this movie is a masterpiece. Eye can happily say this is a moment of cinema history were the movie triumphs over the source material it is based on,(book series by J.R.R Tolken). Sorry to say the same isn't so for the Harry Potter series. watch this film or people will die... starting tonight. Eye'm a man of my word...

Well theese movies are good and I would rate it over average but I would agree that there are too many of theese films and they slow down in some bits and start getting boring the films are just a bit to long really they try to make them long but the longest films arent always the best. They just take longer to sort the film out.

    Lord of the rings.
One of the best trilogies i have ever seen.
My advice to the people who haven't seen the trilogy is that if want to see it, you should watch the three movies in order or else it won't be as enjoyable as you expect it to be.
