Excellent adaptation, I already loved the music, but well choosen cast, with great visuals throughout. Could have been a disaster, but Schmacher tied this together well.

I absolutely LOVED this movie! Every single actor in this film was incredibly musically skilled! Each character was very well developed. Their emotions and instensity of each were greatly timed! The symbolism from the rose that is given to Christine to the white mask was simply beautiful!

A romantic story being held in Paris , in a theatre. We meet Christine (Emmy Rossum) who have been educated in music by the angel of music . She encounter her lost friend from her childhood (Patrick Wilson) who she falls in love with. However the Phantom of the Opera (Gerard Butler)is not happy at all with this realtionship of Christine with this friend of hers as he had other plans in his mind for her ! The story proceeds as we get to know the past of the Phantom from the dance teacher (Miranda Richardson) . I think it is the most lovely story that will never lose her importance !

Apart from some kinda "iffy" suggestive lyrics, it was a great movie overall and really well done, and my sis and I love most of the songs. We sing them around the house all the time!

Beautiful woman with an extraordinary voice. It's worth watching even just for seeing Emmy Rossum and hearing her singing 'All I ask of you' along with Patrick Wilson... Plus, a range of human strongest emotions and a thin border between love and hatred presented in a convincing way.

The classic tale of obsession, Joel Schumacher brings the stage production to the big screen in what should be known as the definitive film of this story. The acting is terrific, and there is just the right amount of sinister added to the splendour of the singing and dancing to make this an intruiging watch.

Granted, I saw it on Broadway earlier in the year, but they just didn't get it right with the actors/singers. Visually, though, the film is very good - that's the only reason it gets 3.

LOVE IT! Gerard makes the phantom sound soooooooooo sexy. And he doesn't look too shabby too, even WITH he's deformed face. I'd obviously choose him over Raoul. :D

Great effects, beautiful music, elaborate costumes and sets. I really enjoyed it. Though I wish the heroine could've had something else to do besides cry and run around looking frightened.

I loved thismovie but hated how it ended! It would have been a wonderful movie, if the girl had choosen the phantom. Raul was ok but the phantom would have been a better choice.

I absolutely love Gerard Butler - as Leonidas and Atilla the Hun, he was superb! However, I am not so sure that he would have been my first choice for the Phantom. His singing was OK, but for the type of songs necessary for Phantom, his voice was not powerful enough. He could not hit the high notes in the title song, but then, not everyone can be Michael Crawford (the original Phantom).

As for the girl who played Christine, I wondered if she was singing at times. She looked like she was miming; I know they would mime to their own singing while acting the parts, but they're not supposed to LOOK like they're miming, right? Ah well, Sarah Brightman, you were missed.

Overall, a good, but not great movie.

This is my favorite movie of all time. I watch it a lot. But you know what is even better is meeting Him in person.

If I were Christine, I would've picked the phantom. He is a LOT hotter. Plus, I think his singing is better.
