Plot: Carl and Molly Peterson are just starting their new life together --complete with a cute house, boring neighbors, stable jobs and the routines of newlywed existence. There's just one unfortunate hitch...( read more read more... ) in their perfectly constructed new world. And his name is Dupree. Randy Dupree, Carl's oldest friend and perpetual bachelor, has found himself with nowhere to go after being fired. Carl yanks his jobless/homeless pal out of the bar he's living in and invites him to temporarily crash on the couch -- that's just what friends do. At first, Carl is quite pleased to have his good buddy as a permanent couch guest, while Molly bears the brunt of Dupree's immature antics. But, as Carl becomes buried in his grown-up job, he finds it harder and harder to juggle Dupree and his responsibilities as a husband. To make matters worse, Dupree uses his ample spare time to become a great companion for Molly. Even her dad and the neighbors are falling for his carefree wisdom and charm -- frustrating Carl to no end. Soon, everyone (but Carl) begins to root for Dupree to stick around. But as Dupree starts to become a fixture in the Peterson's home, three becomes not just a crowd -- but a full blown, hilarious catastrophe.

Good bad and ugly fell onto my couch while i watched this. It did not meet my expectations (due to the cast raising the bar) but it was worth the entertainment time spent and you cannot resist a little Kate and owen after dinner

no quiero tener un pana como Dupree, es graciosa ya que es el mismo personaje que hace owen en casi todas sus peliculas

Not the greatest film ever, but it was great! It's a homely type movie with acceptable humor, just not my type of funny. Owen was great as Dupree, Kate was great but still has yet to wow me, Matt was fine, and Michael was very good at being the somewhat evil father-in-law. All in all it was a very good film, not something I'd watch again and again, just something I'd watch from time to time. I would reccomend it just not as my first suggestion.

Has it's rare moments but in the end it's just another lame US comedy with well known actors. Owen Wilson, who's really a funny guy, is really the only reason why you should watch this. Is that really a good reason? Wilson is more of a sidekick actor, he just doesn't have the important "it" factor. (Scary, that almost rhymed...)

Probably the funniest movie I've seen Owen Wilson in. U almost forget he tried to kill himself recently. Seth Rogen's cameo was gold, Matt Dillion and Kate Hudson were perfect for their roles.

What impact me the most is the story in the movie. Carl, the character play by Michael Douglas, was pressurise by his father-in-law in work that he start to neglect his wife. And with Dupree moving in with the new family and getting to know the wife, Carl have to deal with his own jealousy as well. There is also a story about dupree finding his destiny in the end. It is a story of a mixture of good morals and laughter

Owen Wilson just keeps playing the same character over and over again. Uneven, confusing and not all that appealing.

Owen Wilson is sexy in his pre suicide attempt role. Maybe it was this movie that tipped him over the edge.

Cute movie, not as funny as it could have been. Felt like Owen Wilson was trying too hard to be funny. Would have been better if I didn't know it was supposed to be a comedy.

It was so dumb. I was bored and wanted to see a movie I haven't seen yet. This was the only one in my dorm going door to door that I haven't seen yet. Wish I would have read a book instead.

Pretty funny movie. I thought it would suck, but I liked it. I blame Dupree for breaking up the marriage. But he got them back together so it was all good. Good movie.

''I don't know, I have a hard time imagining Audrey Hepburn getting buttered up to Funky Cold Medina.''
    ''Really? I don't.''

A best man stays on as a house-guest with the newlyweds, much to the couple's annoyance...which later turns around...

    Owen Wilson: Dupree

    Kate Hudson: Molly

    Matt Dillon: Carl

Another comedy, another laugh but it's so silly Dupree doesn't really have a stable plot however it goes nuts on the whole best friend over-stays his welcome and becomes a menace then it evolves then everything starts to get confused.

Granted this Dupree makes you laugh in area's yet it's a safety blanket for Owen Wilson who's done more comedies than i can count, hopefully this offering will earn all involved abit of money from returns of couples who saw it at the cinema hoping for a romantic/comedy/silly piece.

Kate Hudson picks some shite films to be in, lets face it, granted i was impressed with Skeleton Key recently.
Matt Dillon always acts like a block head with exceptions like Crash which show he can act on occasion.
Michael Douglas doesnt need to do this film but like Sentinel he's cashing in for abit of unneeded Cash.

Ok i have had a go and we know now it's pointless but i guess end of the day Depree is meant to be. It's beefed up as a roaring laughter escapade in the trailers, it turns out to be stuck in a washing machine state where it's half baked but lacks a much needed point by it's conclusion.

Good for a giggle but a flawed comedy.

Can I please have the last 90 minutes of my life back? Not anywhere near as funny as it could have been, and it kinda pissed me off... everyone kept getting mad at Carl and he's the only one I found legit! Owen Wilson kept me from crying or falling asleep but that's about it.
